PASTOR'S MESSAGE AND WELCOME
May God's grace and peace be with you today! As you peruse this website, I hope you will sense the loving, welcoming community that is present among the Idaho Falls United Methodists. The table of grace is long and wide, and there is a place for you. Together, both Trinity UMC and St. Paul's UMC offer 2 different worship styles, with the same sermon each Sunday, as well as an array of small group ministries to help you grow in your relationship with God and others. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.---Rev. Elizabeth
WHAT TO EXPECT AT SUNDAY WORSHIP
You belong and you matter to God and to the congregations at St. Paul's and Trinity. We are transforming our world and community through discipleship and connections. On Sunday mornings, you will be greeted as you enter, during the service you will hear a scripture reading, a special message for kids with exciting demonstrations, a caring sermon message, and music with our wonderful chansel choir, praise band, or bell choirs. Communion is offered each week and all are welcome at the table. Each 5th Sunday, Trinity and St. Paul's meet together to grow in our Idaho Falls Methodist community.
Meet Reverend Elizabeth

Themes in her speaking, teaching, living, and leading
God is love and grace. All are included—especially those on the margins of society. God can use all persons, even those we vehemently disagree with, to build the kingdom of God.
God is compassionate. God is not distant and unapproachable. God suffers with us as we encounter the powers and principalities of this world. God yearns with us for reconciliation where fear and mistrust prevail.
God calls us as co-creators to build the kingdom of God in this realm. The purpose of our faith in God is to share the Gospel message—sometimes through words, mostly through actions of humility, inclusivity, generosity and courage.

Called to Serve
My call to ordained ministry came while enrolled in seminary, Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley, CA. I originally entered seminary for personal reasons. I wanted to spend time studying the Bible to develop my own theology. I intended to pursue a doctorate in Asian American Studies and become a professor. During my first year in seminary I felt called by God to use the gift of my experience as an Asian American in the church, not the university. I believe that my call to ministry is to reach out specifically to those who are on the fringes of society; to share my own struggles as I walk alongside people; to use my experiences of being on the fringe to help others see the meaning of their lives. I strive to create openings in organized religion for people from all different backgrounds, cultures and faith unbringings. Perhaps they might see God in me, but more importantly, perhaps they might see God in themselves.
